A tourist was admiring an Indian's necklace and asked him, "What is it made of?"

"Alligator's teeth," the Indian replied.

The tourist said, "And I suppose that they mean as much to you as pearls do to us."

And the Indian said, "Oh, no. They have a much greater meaning to me. Anybody can open an oyster."
