You've got your phenomenon on one hand. Concrete and knowable. On the other hand you've got the incomprehensible. You call it God, but to me, God or no, it remains just that, the unknowable. -- Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess, Northern Exposure, A Wing and a Prayer, 1994

Hatred And Animosity

Two Pakistanis boarded a shuttle out of Washington for New York. One sat in the window seat, the other in the middle seat. Just before takeoff, a fat little Indian guy got on and took the aisle seat next to the two Pakistanis. He kicked off his shoes, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Pakistani in the window seat said, "I think I'll go up and get a Pepsi."

"No problem," said the Indian,"I'll get it for you."

While he was away, the Pakistani picked up the shoe and spat in it. When the Indian returned with the Pepsi, the other Pakistani said, "That looks good. I think I'll have one too."

Again, the Indian obligingly went to fetch it. And while he was gone, the Pakistani picked up the shoe and spat in it. The Indian returned with the Pepsi and they all sat back and enjoyed the short flight to New York. As the plane was landing the Indian slipped his feet into his shoes & knew immediately what had happened,

"How long must this go on," the Indian asked, "This enmity between our people... this hatred... this animosity... this spitting in shoes and pissing in the Pepsis."

Joke

I was at the drugstore and noticed a young male cashier staring at the pretty girl in front of me. Her total came to $16.42, and after handing over a $100 bill, she waited for change.

"Here you go," said the cashier, smiling as he returned the proper amount. "Have a great day!"

Now I placed my items on the counter. The tally was $32.79, and I too gave the cashier a $100 bill.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. We can't accept anything larger than a fifty," he told me, pointing to a sign stating store policy.

"But you just accepted that last girl's hundred," I reasoned.

"I had to," he said. "It had her phone number on it."

Joke

My granddaughter came to spend a few weeks with me, and I decided to teach her to sew. After I had gone through a lengthy explanation of how to thread the machine, she stepped back, put her hands on her hips, and said in disbelief,

"You mean you can do all that, but you can't operate my Game Boy?"

Joke

A group of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders, accompanied by two female teachers went on a field trip to the local race track to learn about thoroughbred horses and the supporting industry.

When it was time to take the children to the toilet, it was decided that the girls would go with one teacher and the boys would go with the other.

The female teacher assigned to the boys was waiting outside the men's room when one of the boys came out and told her that none of them could reach the urinal.

Having no choice, she went inside and began hoisting the little boys up by their arm pits, one by one.

As she lifted one, she couldn't help but notice that he was unusually well endowed.

Trying not to show that she was staring, the teacher said, "You must be in the 3rd!"

"No, ma'am," he replied. "I'm in the 7th, riding Sea Biscuit...but thanks!"

Trivia answer....

The game crambo, in which one person or team must find a rhyme to a word or a line of verse given by another, originated around 1600. The word "crambo" is from the Latin for “cabbage.”

CRAMBO, an old rhyming game which, according to Strutt (Sports and Pastimes), was played as early as the 14th century under the name of the ABC of Aristotle. In the days of the Stuarts it was very popular, and is frequently mentioned in the writings of the time. Thus Congreves Love for Love, i. I, contains the passage, Get the Maids to Crambo in an Evening, and learn the knack of Rhyming. Crambo, or capping the rhyme, is now played by one player thinking of a word and telling the others what it rhymes with, the ,others not naming the actual word they guess but its meaning. Thus one says I know a word that rhymes with bird. A second asks Is it ridiculous? No, it is not absurd. Is it a part of speech? No, it is not a word. This proceeds until the right word is guessed. In Dumb Crambo the guessers, instead of naming the word, express its meaning by dumb show, a rhyme being given them as a clue.
